FAQ: Imports - Do I Need to Delete or Reload My Data?
So you've uploaded an import file and realize you need to make corrections? No problem! Find the import type you used below to see how to correct your data:
Transaction Activity (Simple) Import
If you entered transaction activity via an import, you will need to delete the previous file(s) that had errors and reload the corrected file. Importing multiple Transaction Activity (Simple) Imports may cause duplicate entries, as files are not overwritten.
Note: If the file is from a closed period, you will need to reopen that period to delete the file and related transactions.
You can delete your import file by going to Accounting and selecting the 'Delete file activity' tab. Here you'll see recent import files and can click the Delete button to clear out the activity in the file.
Manager Investment Activity Import
For this import type, you will need to delete the previous files that had errors and reload the corrected file. Deleting a file will not clear out investment activity. If you need to clear out investment activity, we recommended uploading a new Manager Investment Activity Import file populated with all zeros for each manager.
You can delete your import file by going to Accounting and selecting the 'Delete file activity' tab. Here you'll see recent import files and can click the Delete button to clear out the activity in the file.
Endowed Fund, Expendable Fund, Fund History, and Investment Pool History Imports
Using any of these import types, you can over-write the existing data and do not have to delete the file with errors. Simply upload a new corrected file.
