SFTP Implementation Process
We'll first have you sign a Statement of Work. A Statement of Work (SOW) is a contract between Evertrue and the customer outlining the scope of work and cost estimate for the project.
Once this SOW is signed, we'll ask you to provide your configuration information. Then our engineers will configure the Balance system to connect to your FTP server. Once that's complete, we'll have you test receiving an export file and go from there.

Frequently Asked Questions & Technical Specifications
Note: our Import Types article contains full templates with technical specifications.
What file types are supported?
Balance supports the most common data formats to ensure compatibility with your existing systems. Supported extensions include:
.xlsx
.xls
.csv
These formats cover 96% of the 850+ export types we currently process. Note: We no longer support XML file types.
What formatting options are supported?
Our import engine is flexible and can be configured to handle various data structures, including:
Headers & Footers: Files containing summary rows or header metadata.
Custom Delimiters: While CSV (comma-separated) is standard, we support custom delimiters such as Pipe characters (|).
Variable Columns: We can configure the import to handle variable column widths as needed.
Why does "Export Automation" still require a manual touch?
Currently, while imports (sending data to Balance) are fully automated, some export workflows (getting data out of Balance) may still require a manual step.
We are looking to eliminate all manual touches to make the process 100% hands-free. If your workflow requires more advanced settings or deeper automation to remove manual intervention, please share your Product Feedback with your implementation contact. Your input helps us define the requirements and priority for future automation features.
